A science workshop and health camp at Baparu

On 14 October, HIMWATS held an experience-based children’s science workshop at Government Inter College Baparu (Barakot), in Champawat, with the support of UCOST. The society ran a free medical and health check-up camp at the school on the same day.

The workshop

The workshop banner reads Experience-Based Children’s Science Workshop 2026-27, with UCOST Uttarakhand as sponsor. Its subject was the microscope: 26 students of Class 8 were trained in using one, and 174 students of the school benefited from it indirectly.

The health camp

At the camp, 180 students, teachers and parents had their eyes examined. Eleven students were found to have a vision defect.
